Stocks Suffer Worst Quarterly Declines in Decades

US stocks closed lower yesterday, with the S&P having its worst first half of the year since 1970.

In the last six months, the S&P500 fell 20.6%, whist the Dow and the Nasdaq have fallen by 15% and 30% respectively.

On the other side of the Atlantic, the UK’s FTSE has dropped by more than 20%.

Are the recessions looking more and more realistic?
