Orbex Becomes Bronze Sponsor of “Mikroi Irwes” Charitable Event

We are proud to announce that Orbex is the official bronze sponsor of the “Mikroi Irwes” (Little Heroes) charitable event which is due to take place at 18:00 pm, on July 19th, 2022, at the Machallekide gym in Limassol, Cyprus.  

Mikroi Irwes is a non-profit organization founded by Cypriot journalist and politician Loucas Fourlas with the aim to provide financial support to families of children with cancer and leukemia at the Pediatric Oncology Unit of Makarios Children’s Hospital.  

A prominent member of the Special Committee on Beating Cancer (BECA), Fourlas founded Mikroi Irwes after losing his daughter to cancer and has dedicated his life to the cause: “My commitment and highest priority is the fight against cancer, especially childhood cancer. The battle is a very sensitive and personal one for me, and a life promise that I will never break – for NO child should have to fight cancer alone” – Loucas Fourlas, Mikroi Irwes founder. 

This year, at Orbex we support the summer event organized by Mikroi Irwes with a charitable donation and as the bronze sponsor of the Machallekide gym fitness day with the motto “We work out in support of our own little heroes” and scheduled for July 19, 2022. All proceeds from the event will go to the Mikroi Irwes foundation and will be used to support children battling cancer and leukemia.  

For us here at Orbex, it is a true privilege to be able to support such a noble cause and help raise awareness of child cancer. Health and social solidarity have a prominent place in Orbex’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program, and we encourage all Orbex employees to actively participate in the event.
