UK inflation reached a 41-year high, accelerating to 11.1%.
Inflation is now at its highest since October 1981, having previously recorded a rate of 10.1%.
All eyes will now be on the Autumn budget, as the new Chancellor has to make some tough decisions as we head into 2023.
